Welcome to Hetleys
Hetleys have been making and supplying ergonomic office furniture for over 30 years. We are based in Blairlinn Industrial Estate, Cumbernauld, and we work with businesses and individuals across the UK.
What we do is simple. We help you sit better. Whether that means a single office chair, a full bespoke build for a complex condition, or kitting out a 200-person office with the right chairs and accessories, our job is to get the right product in front of you first time.

Chairs Built To Suit the Person Sitting in It
Hetleys was founded by David Devoy in 2012. From day one, the focus has been on solving real problems. Most office chairs are built for an average person who does not actually exist. Our chairs are built around the person sitting in them.
We make our custom seating ranges right here in the UK. Every chair carries at least a five-year guarantee. We work closely with Access to Work, occupational health teams, DSE assessors and the NHS. Our customers range from people working from a home office to public sector buyers fitting out hundreds of staff.
We are not the biggest name in ergonomic furniture. We do not try to be. We would rather be known for getting it right than for shifting volume.
About David
40 Years in the Chair
David runs Hetleys. He is the person who picks up the phone, works on assessments, and answers your emails. After 40 years working in ergonomic seating, he has seen more problems than most and built solutions for the ones he had not.
David always says he is not interested in selling you a chair that won't do the job. If your back, your hips or your work pattern need something different, he will build it.
His approach is simple.

The right chair should solve problems, not create them. I'd rather tell someone a product isn't right for them than sell them something that won't do the job. We start by listening, measuring properly and understanding how they work, then we tailor the seating until it feels right.

Our Facility
The Chair Clinic
The Chair Clinic is where we sit down with you and work out what you actually need. It is not a showroom. You do not wander between rows of chairs hoping one fits.
- We assess you and talk through your workday
- We look at any pain or medical issues
- We trial chairs that are likely to suit
- We have a ‘build your own chair’ facility in our clinic where we can match any seat base with any back and try it right there and then.
We then order your specific chair and have it built to your specifications in around 2 weeks. No big shipping delays and weeks for an appointment.
You leave with a clear recommendation. We have chairs that can suit 99% of the population and if not, we will measure you and quote you on the spot.
